“Crooner’s Journey” is a jazz project led by visionary pianist and vocalist Joe De Gregorio. Inspired by the international singer-songwriter tradition, it celebrates global music through jazz. Moreover, the project reinterprets iconic songs, giving them a fresh, contemporary style.
Born in Rome and now based in France and the USA, De Gregorio has shaped a distinct artistic voice. Over the years, his experience across Europe, North Africa, and the United States enriched his style. Through Crooner’s Journey, he creatively reimagines iconic songs from Italian, French, Brazilian, Spanish, and American repertoires. As a result, each arrangement reflects an intimate, contemporary jazz approach.
Additionally, the project was recorded in Paris with leading musicians from the French jazz scene. Consequently, it is perfectly suited for live performance. Performed in five languages, the project combines piano, voice, and improvisation. As a result, it offers a refined yet accessible format, ideal for jazz clubs and festivals.
Furthermore, Joe is a two-time international jazz competition winner. He has performed at Sunside Jazz Club (Paris), Parco della Musica (Rome), Detroit Jazz Festival, and Saint Peter’s Jazz Vespers (New York). These experiences demonstrate his dedication to live performance and cultural exchange.
Finally, Crooner’s Journey presents jazz as a bridge between cultures. Through melody, storytelling, and improvisation, it creates a shared musical language beyond borders.
