Giuseppe De Gregorio is a four-time scholarship winner, with awards from the Academy of Music and Drama (Gothenburg), Lazio Region’s “Torno Subito” program, and two prestigious U.S. institutions: The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music (New York) and Berklee College of Music (Boston). He spent over a year studying and performing in the USA. Since 2016, he has been active on the New York Jazz scene with The NYC Gospel Jazz Syndicate, performing as a resident at Bonafide Jazz Club in Manhattan, owned by bassist Richard Bona.
Among his mentors: Ramberto Ciammarughi, Karel Boehlee, John Taylor, Serge Lazarevitch, Reggie Workman, Cecil Bridgewater, Danilo Perez, Victor Wooten.

Pianista, compositore, vocalist, autore, produttore e didatta nato a Roma, primo premio del concorso pianistico Luca Flores (Firenze, 2009) e primo premio del Concorso Internazionale per solisti di Jazz di Montecarlo (Monaco, 2015), Giuseppe, in arte “Joe” De Gregorio, è attivo sulla scena del Jazz Internazionale da oltre dieci anni su ben tre continenti, Europa, Africa del Nord e Stati Uniti (New York) dove si è esibito con Jonathan Blake (Blue Note artist), Joel Frahm ed Ari Hoenig.

Bandleader di varie formazioni tra cui il trio a proprio nome, ha registrato sinora sei dischi auto prodotti collaborando con artisti internazionali tra cui il batterista Greg Hutchinson, il chitarrista David Reinhardt (nipote di Django) ed il bassista israeliano Yoni Zelnik (ECM recording artist).

Si è esibito al Parco della Musica di Roma (2019), Jamboree Jazz Club (Barcellona), Sunside Jazz Club (Parigi), Bravo Jazz Club (Bruxelles), Teatro Princesse Grace (Montecarlo), alla Villa des Arts di Rabat e di Casablanca (Marocco), alla Rockwood Music Hall (New York), al Bonafide Jazz club di proprietà di Richard Bona, (New York) ed ai Saint Peter’s Jazz Vespers (New York); è fondatore di 3 collettivi internazionali: Paris Gospel Jam (Parigi, 2012), The Gospel Jazz Syndicate (New York, 2016) Brotherhood Afromed International Jazz Collective (Casablanca, 2020). Vincitore di Borse di Studio Internazionali e Residenza a New York
Vincitore di quattro quattro borse di studio Internazionali presso la Academy of Music and Drama di Gothenburg (Svezia, 2008), presso la Regione Lazio con il bando “Torno Subito” (edizione 2015) e presso due prestigiose istituzioni Americane (New York e Boston, 2016): The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music of New York ed il Berklee College of Music di Boston. Ha trascorso negli USA un periodo di studio e lavoro di oltre un anno. A partire da Maggio 2016 è attivo sulla scena Jazz Newyorkese con il proprio gruppo, Il NYC Gospel Jazz Syndicate, accolto per 6 mesi in residenza stabile nel cuore di Manhattan (da Maggio 2016 a Febbraio 2017) presso il Bonafide, all’epoca, Club di proprietà del famoso bassista Camerunense Richard Bona.
